Metro Atlanta Ambulance Medics Bowl for Charity
Metro Atlanta Ambulance helped raise more than $11,000 for the Center for Family Resources, a local non-profit organization that provides programs and needed resources to individuals and families so they can become independent and self-sufficient and break the cycle of poverty. The Marietta Fire Department team “Great Balls of Fire” led by Assistance Chief Chris Whitmire offered the challenge earlier in the year to MAAS VP Devan Seabaugh to get together a team to compete in the CFR charity event. Seabaugh stated, “I had an overwhelming response from our employees wanting to participate so we entered two teams and named them ‘Living on a Spare’ and ‘Sidewalk Surgeons’. It was a great event, a lot of fun and all for a good cause. The MAAS Sidewalk Surgeons beat out 27 teams includingthe MFD ‘Great Balls of Fire’ to win the coveted Gold Pin top prize. MetroAtlanta Ambulance Provides Medical Covarege for the Marietta Rotary Park-to-Park 10k Fun Run
MetroAtlanta Ambulance medics were on standby to ensure the safety of runners and walkers from all over Cobb County as they participated in the inaugural Marietta Rotary Club's Park-to-Park Fun Run. Proceeds from the event benefited The Extension and the The Good Samaritain Health Center of Cobb.

MetroAtlanta Ambulance Participates in Career Day at Park Street Elementary School
Medics from MetroAtlanta Ambulance spent the day with the kids at Park Street Elementary School talking about the 9-1-1 EMS System and what Paramedics do when they get called to the scene of an Emergency. MAAS Medic Allyson Shaffer stated,"They really enjoyed us being there and getting to tour the ambulance. They asked some good questions too but mostly liked getting to push the button to the siren!" MetroAtlanta Ambulance is partnered with Park Street Elementary through the Cobb Chamber of Commerce's Partners in Education Program.

MetroAtlanta Ambulance Supports the Police Athletic Activities League in Alpharetta
MetroAtlanta Ambulance helped make life a little better for youth in Alpharetta by becoming one of many sponsors of the Alphareta Police Athletic Activities League Afterschool and Mentoring Program. The programs is a 5-day afterschool program from 2:30-8pm Monday – Thursday, and until 6:30 on Friday. The program is available to kids in North Fulton County, GA ages 8-14. MetroAtlanta Ambulance Team Walks to Support MUST Ministries
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Paramedic/EMD Dispatcher Marci Dodd organized a team to walk/run in the annual MUST Ministries Gobble Jog. The Gobble Jog host 10K, 5K and 1K races the morning of Thanksgiving each year to raise awareness and financial support for MUST Ministries, a local non-profit organization that provides food, clothing, financial assistance and shelter to the homeless and others in need in our community. The largest field ever, more than 6,500 participants from all over the country came to Marietta this year to race in the annual event. MetroAtlanta Ambulance Gobble Jog Team members included Laura Hawley, Amada Orozco, Dawn-Marie Smith, Heather and Hannah Fick, Devan, Beth, Heidi, Abby, Zach, Olivia and Sophia Seabaugh and Don Massaro. MetroAtlanta Ambulance also was a sponsor of the event and donated EMS coverage.

Metro Atlanta Ambulance Supports the Cobb County Safety Village's 1st Annual "Stop, Drop and Rock & Roll" Gala
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service was proud to be a sponsor of the 1st Annual Cobb County Safely Village “Stop, Drop and Rock & Roll” Gala. More than 300 community leaders and public safety officials attended the fundraising event, Emceed by local radio personality “Moby in the Morning” at the new Cobb County Safety Village. Public Safety Officials toured dignitaries through the village and explained the extraordinary impact the events that take place in the village are having on the lives of our children. Honorary co-chairs for the event were Cobb County Commission Chairman Sam Olens and his wife Lisa along with Cobb County Public Safety Director Mickey Lloyd and his wife Lanita. All proceeds from the event go to the Cobb County Safety Village Foundation and will be used to support the ongoing operations of the facility. Metro Atlanta Ambulance vice president Devan Seabaugh stated, “This Safety Village is already having a positive impact on the lives of our elementary school kids and we are excited to be here for this event and to be part of making the vision become a reality”.

Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service Provides Medical Coverage for the 2009 Atlanta Pride Festival
MetroAtlanta Ambulance provided EMS and medical coverage to the Atlanta Pride Festival held this year on Halloween Weekend at Piedmont Park. The festival is the third largest Pride Event in the nation attracting more than 300,000 people. MetroAtlanta Ambulance’s Vice President Devan Seabaugh stated, “ This is our second year providing medical coverage and ambulance services for the event and the first time at Piedmont Park so it required some additional planning and coordination on our part to ensure the medical safety of everyone in attendance. We set up first aid/water stations and strategically deployed our ambulances, medical cart and EMS bike teams throughout the venue so we could get to all areas of the venue quickly when we needed to. The Atlanta Pride Committee, Atlanta Civic Center, Atlanta Police and Atlanta Fire Department personnel where great to work with and for all involved I’d say the event was a great success.”

MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service Supports the Cobb County Safety Village Foundation's "Stop, Drop, Rock n Roll Gala.
MetroAtlanta Ambulance signed on wtih other businesses and community leaders to sponosre the Cobb County Safety Village's 1st Annual Gala Event held November 7, 2009. Those attending learned how the David Hankerson Education Building was an interactive place where the walls came alive with knowledge while instructors explained how they would shared the most advanced safety techniques with elementary school kids each year as each strolled through the Village. The village inlcudes a complete replica of the Marietta City Square, a cityscape of reduced-scale structures, miniature cars and interactive safety training areas all of which will be utilized to teach kids how to be safe. MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service Supports the Cobb Make-A-Wish Foundation 5K
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service along with other local area businesses and individuals helped make the 2009 Cobb County Make-A-Wish Foundation 5K a successful event. In an effort to give back to the community, Cobb County Government began the Make-A-Wish 5K in 2001 and since that time has raised more than $260,000 for the organization. All proceeds from the event are donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization that grants the wishes of children suffering with life threatening medical conditions. Because of local fundraising events like the Cobb County Make-A-Wish 5K and individual donor support, the Make-a-Wish Foundation was able to grant the heartfelt wishes of 13,465 children in fiscal 2009. MetroAtlanta Ambulance has been proud to provide EMS coverage and financial support to the Cobb County Make-A-Wish Foundation event for the last eight years. MetroAtlanta Ambulance Participates in the Success for All Students Kick-Off Celebration
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service Vice President Devan Seabaugh and Government Affairs Manager Mark Mathews joined local, state and federal legislators, other business and community leaders for the kick-off event for the Success for All Students Project. The project is an extraordinary partnership among the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office, Cobb Community Services Board, Cobb Juvenile Court and Georgia State University that is implementing strategies aimed at promoting school safety and healthy youth development. The mission, to provide systemic change through sustainable intervention strategies that reduce the risk factors that can come between children and their ability to learn at home and in the classroom with the ultimate goal being increased graduation rates.

Local organizations have been invited to construct reduced-scale buildings at a limited number of sites in the safety village. These life like streets include sidewalks, traffic signals and a variety of structures that represent our community and these structures will become an integral part of the learning experience MetroAtlanta Ambulance Vice President, Devan Seabaugh serves as a Director on the Cobb County Safety Village Foundation and MetroAtlanta Ambulance President and CEO, Pete Quinones agreed make a philanthropic gift including an ambulance unit and sponsorship of a building for the village where kids can tour the ambulance vehicle and learn more about the role of the ambulance service in the emergency medical service system in Cobb County. Margaret Burgess, Professional School Counselor commented that the time, words and materials planted a seed in more than 600 children and because of your efforts, our children now have atangible ideas with which to explore the infinite life long opporutnites that await them.

MetroAtlanta Ambulance donated EMS Services in suport of the Operation Yellow Ribbon Run. The money, raised by Opeation Homefront Georgia will be used to make sure that military families are safe and their needs are being met. Wounded warriors are helped during their recovery and with assistance while their Veteran's Affairs disability claims are being processed.

Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service EMT Laurie Hawley joined hundreds of volunteers in the Joy Foundation’s 10th Annual “ Shop with a Hero” Event on December 13, 2008. The event has become an annual tradition in Cobb County with members from the military, police, fire, and emergency medical service organizations all volunteering their time to shop with kids in our community. Money for the event is raised throughout the year from donations to the Joy Foundation and through local fundraising events. The kids are taught to first shop for their parents or guardian; then their brothers and sisters and then they buy a special gift for themselves. The Foundation exists to help children in need in our communities and the Shop with a Hero program ensures all kids enjoy the magic and blessings found in giving during the Christmas holiday season. MetroAtlanta Ambulance Employees Help “Stuff A Bus” for Christmas
MetroAtlanta Ambulance employees gathered toys, non-perishable food items, gift cards and gift certificates for Cobb County’s “Stuff A Bus” for Christmas Holiday program. For several years now, Cobb Christmas partners with Cobb County Department of Transportation and Cobb Community Transit (CCT) to create the county’s most unique and memorable holiday program named “Stuff-A-Bus”. Cobb Christmas uses a Cobb Community Transit (CCT) bus to go around town collecting gifts from local businesses, schools and other organizations that have organized toy and food drives. The gifts and foods are distributed to familes in need during the holiday season. This year MetroAtlanta Ambualnce employees stuffed and Ambulance Unit and delivered the toys to the Cobb Christmas warehouse in person. MetroAtlanta Ambulance vice president Devan Seabaugh stated, “We were excited to be able to participate in this annual holiday event. Our employees were committed to helping some families in need during the holiday and we’ve all been blessed to be a part of it”.

MetroAtlanta Ambulance Sponsors 2008 “Red Ribbon Week” Activities at Park Street Elementary
The Red Ribbon Week Celebration brings millions of people together to raise awareness regarding the need for alcohol, tobacco and other drug and violence prevention, early intervention, and treatment services. It is the largest, most visible prevention awareness campaign observed annually in the United States. MetroAtlanta Ambulance provided a large supply of Red Ribbon Week supplies including banners, water bottles, key chains, ribbons, bookmarks etc., to distribute to the kids at Park Street Elementary throughout the week as ongoing reminders about what they had learned in regards to drug and alcohol prevention. MetroAtlanta Ambulance Paramedic and CQI Manager Allyson Shaffer spent the day talking to the kids about the consequence of using drugs and alcohol. Pete Quinones, President and CEO of MetroAtlanta Ambulance stated, "It’s important these kids hear about the effects and consequences that using drugs and alcohol will have on their health, their lives and the lives of those around them. We hope by having these discussions with them at a young age, something said or done will sink into their memory and help them make a better decision when the time arises.” MetroAtlanta Ambulance is the 9-1-1 ambulance provider for Cobb County including the cities of Acworth, Kennesaw and Marietta. MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service Provides EMS Coverage for the 2008 Aids Walk Atlanta
On Sunday, October 19, 2008, MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service provided ALS ambulance coverage as thousands of individuals, organizations and corporations united in the spirit of caring and giving by participating in the largest and most visible fundraising event for AIDS in the southeast, AIDS Walk Atlanta. Funds raised from the event will make it possible for AID Atlanta and 9 other AIDS service organizations to continue working to stop the spread of HIV and transform the lives of those living with the disease. The event took place at Piedmont Park and Grady High School in the City of Atlanta and was hosted by AID Atlanta, the largest non-profit community based HIV/AIDS service organization in the Southeast United States serving more than 80,000 Georgians.

MetroAtlanta Provides Medical Coverage at Marietta First United Methodist Church's 175th Anniversary Service
For more than 175 Years Marietta First United Methodist Church has been spreading the gospel in Marietta, Georgia and on October 19, 2008, the congregation gathered outside in a new park to celebrate and dedicate what they had done in response to God’s goodness. In 175 days, the Church transformed an overgrown wooded area on Polk Street into a beautiful park for the community to enjoy. Adjacent to the park they built an exact replica of the first log cabin church that was occupied by Marietta FUMC in 1833. The cabin will be used for various events throughout the year. MetroAtlanta Ambulance assisted in the celebration by providing standby medical services throughout the afternoon as thousands of members and visitors, young and old enjoyed the magnificence of God’s creation and celebrated Marietta First United Methodist’s 175th Anniversary.

MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service provided coverage for the 2008 "Wings Over Marietta" Air Show and Open House at Dobbins Air Reserve Base
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service provided EMS coverage for the 2008 "Wings Over Marietta" Air Show and Open House at Dobbins Air Reserve Base on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 18 – 19 as Team Dobbins welcomed thousands of aviation lovers from the Metro Atlanta area and beyond to see a wide variety of military and civilian aerial and aerobatic performances, including the Air Force's premier aerial demonstration team, the Thunderbirds. Several aircraft and equipment were on static display along with a variety of refreshments and souvenirs. MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service stationed three ALS ambulance units at the event and utilized the MAAS Medical Cart to respond to emergency requests on the tarmac. Cobb & Douglas Public Health Center for Emergency Preparedness and Response Director, Pam Blackwell, RN, stated, “Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service is such a pleasure to work with in planning for these events. They integrate well with other coordinating and response agencies and have a proven and successful track record of handling these large events. I never worry about EMS response because I know the MetroAtlanta Team will take care of business when an emergency call comes in.”

Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service Provides EMS and Medical Coverage for the 2008 Atlanta Pride Festival
MetroAtlanta Ambulance provided EMS and medical coverage to the Atlanta Pride Festival held this year on July 4th weekend at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center on Piedmont Avenue, a new location for the event for the first time in nearly 20 years. The festival is the third largest Pride Event in the nation attracting more than 300,000 people to commemorate the June 28, 1969 raid at the Stonewall Inn in New York City, an event that touched off three days of riots and serves as the symbolic start of the gay civil rights movement. MetroAtlanta Ambulance’s Vice President Devan Seabaugh stated, “ This was the first year that Atlanta Pride held the festival at a venue other than Piedmont Park and the first time EMS was asked to provide medical coverage in addition to ambulance services for the event so it required some additional planning and coordination on our part to ensure the medical safety of everyone in attendance. MetroAtlanta Ambulance particpated in the Marietta City Schools "Rock 'N' Read" Kick-Off Event at the town square in the City of Marietta. MetroAtlanta had an Ambulance on display in the "Hereo's Corner" and medics talked about EMS and read stories to more than 100 kids throughout the afternoon.

Girl Scout Troop 4427 Tours Metro Atlanta Ambulance Headquarters
Troop Leader Bonnie Looney and Girl Scout Troop 4427 from Soap Creek Elementary school toured Metro Atlanta Ambulance Headquarters and got a hands on demonstration with Field Supervisor, Dennis Westover on what it's like to be a patient in an ambulance and too, what it's like work as an Emergency Medical Technician and EMS Dispatcher.

Kiwanis Club of Marietta ?Field of Flags Tribute?
Metro Atlanta Ambulance Vice President, Devan Seabaugh, coordinated an effort of the Marietta Kiwanis Club to erect more than 3000 flags in the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park in tribute to all Americans that have lost their lives in the fight for freedom, the victims of September 11, 2001 and to honor the men and women of public safety that lay their lives on the line each day. Metro Atlanta Ambulance was a financial sponsor of the event and provided medical coverage for the memorial service that evening.

Metro Atlanta vice president and Chief Operations Officer, Mike Jernigan stated, ?We were honored to be asked to provide coverage for this important event. Fortunately other than a few minor injuries, it was uneventful as far as the need for our services but our staff will remember the experience for years to come.?

The Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation has contracted with MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service to provide on-site first aid and ambulance coverage for the Falcons Youth Foundation annual Youth Flag Football Game.

Memorial to Victims of Sept 11th Attacks-Georgia Memorial Park
MetroAtlanta Ambulance employees will gather with other public safety organizations and the citizens of Cobb County in a ceremony honoring those who tragically lost their lives in the attack on our Country on September 11, 2002. Georgia Memorial Park will unveil a monument that will be permanently erected in honor of those who paid the ultimate price as an American citizen. At exactly 10:05 am, the time that the North Tower of the World Trade Center collapsed, all flags throughout the United States will be lowered to half-mast. At 10:28 am, the time that the South Tower of the World Trade Center collapsed, all flags will be raised back to full mast and all Public Safety units throughout the United States will sound their sirens in honor of the Medics, Fire Fighters and Police Officers lost that day.

City of Marietta-September 11th Memorial
MetroAtlanta Ambulance will partner with Marietta Fire & EMS to provide medical coverage on the Town Square for the City of Marietta September 11th Memorial and Celebration to honor the victims, families and heroes of the September 11th terror attacks against our nation. Coverage will be provided as in-kind services for the event.

Harrison High School has contracted with MetroAtlanta Ambulance to provide ambulance stand-by for the 2002-2003-football season varsity home games.

MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service Partners with Pine Forrest Elementary School
Beginning in September, MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service will partner with Pine Forrest Elementary School as a Partner in Education. The program, sponsored by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce is designed to give local business an opportunity to share their expertise, time, ideas, experience and financial support with the faculty, staff and students at local schools. Metro Atlanta Ambulance CEO, Pete Quinones stated, "We are excited about our partnership with the new Pine Forrest Elementary. Our employees are eager to get involved with the kids and Pine Forrest Elementary has a fantastic faculty to work with. We anticipate having a long-term relationship with them and the Cobb Chamber."

Z93 BBQ Classic
MetroAtlanta Ambulance will provide medical coverage and ambulance transportation at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds on Sugarloaf Parkway at the Z93 BBQ Classic. The event is being sponsored by WZGC-FM.

July 4th Festival
City of Marietta and MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service will partner with Marietta Fire & EMS to ensure the safety for all attending the City of Marietta 4th of July Festival on the town square. The festivities will begin with a parade down Roswell Street and culminate late in the evening with an exciting Fireworks Extravaganza. Metro Vice President Devan Seabaugh, stated, ?We anticipate a lot of heat-related illnesses due to the extreme climate. Marietta Fire & EMS will have their bicycle paramedic team in place and we will have a gas powered golf cart designed for EMS use so that we can easily maneuver through the crowds if an emergency situation occurs.? The event is expected to attract over 50,000 people.

Boy Scouts of America
Local Boy Scout Troops visited MetroAtlanta Ambulance?s operations center on June 9, 2002. The young men sat in the Dispatch Operations Center and learned how the EMS system is set into motion when someone Dials 911. They toured the ambulances and Metro Paramedics demonstrated various pieces of equipment utilized in the field for treating traumatic injuries

American Cancer Society-Relay for Life
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service will partner with Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services to provide medical standby at Jim Miller Park, May 17th and 18th for the American Cancer Society?s Relay for Life. The Relay is expected to attract several thousand people for a 24 hour walk-a-thon. The Relay for Life is one of the American Cancer Society?s largest fundraisers.

Cystic Fibrosis Walk-a-Thon
MetroAtlanta provided ambulance coverage for the 2002 Cystic Fibrosis Walk-a-Thon. MetroAtlanta employees have formed a team and raised money to support the event in honor of Sarah O?Neill the daughter of MetroAtlanta Operations Supervisor, Dave O?Neill. Sarah was diagnosed with CF in September of 1990. Dave O?Neill stated, ?The management, staff and employees of MetroAtlanta have been very supportive of Sarah?s fight against CF. It?s a great feeling to work for a company that truly cares and supports their employees and their activities. Metro employees raised over $4,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis event.

Marietta High School Health Fair
MetroAtlanta medics will host a booth at Marietta High School's Health Fair to perform blood pressure checks and introduce students to the supplies and equipment utilized in pre hospital care. It will be an opportunity for students interested emergency services to get specific answers to their questions about the educational requirements for EMT training, which schools offer EMT programs and what the salary expectations can be.
