On June 26, 2002, Officials from the District III Office of EMS for the State of Georgia recognized six Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service employees by presenting them with the ?Star of Life? Award.
The Star of Life Award is presented to EMT?s and Paramedics who successfully resuscitate a pediatric or adult victim who was not breathing and had no pulse upon their arrival on the scene or anytime during treatment or transport. The patient must ultimately be discharged from the hospital in a viable state allowing them to continue leading a productive life.
Receiving the honors were Metro Atlanta Ambulance Paramedic?s Dennis Westover, Elesa Sanders and Penny Shuler. Metro Atlanta EMT?s included Stephen Borders, Ryan McElwee and Robyn Davis.
