Date:  2003-10-31

Cobb County 911 Ambulance provider, MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service, provided medical coverage for U.S. Vice President, Dick Cheney's recent visit to Cobb County. Metro Atlanta Vice President and Chief Operations Officer Mike Jernigan stated, "We?ve done this before and fortunately it was again an uneventful day as far as the need for our professional services, but being a part of the Vice President's motorcade and working closely with the secret service is always an exciting opportunity for our staff and something they will remember for years to come.?

It was a special day for Metro Atlanta Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, Devan Seabaugh as well. Seabaugh, recently named "Marietta Citizen of the Year" by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, was again recognized for his service to the Cobb community by Congressman Phil Gingrey at the gathering of more than six hundred political, business and community leaders assembled to hear U.S. Vice President, Dick Cheney?s remarks at the Cobb Galleria Center.

Seabaugh led the group in the pledge of allegiance prior to Vice President Cheney?s remarks and stated, ? It was quite an experience to stand at the podium of the Vice President of the United States, with Secret Service Agents on all sides, and to look out over a crowd of more than six hundred people standing at attention and waiting on me to begin the pledge of allegiance. It is an experience I will not soon forget and it was a great honor to be recognized by Congressman Phil Gingrey.?
