	Pete Quinones to Serve on the Board of Directors for the Friends of the Strand Theater

	Metro Atlanta Ambulance President & CEO Pete Quinones will serve on the Board of Directors for the "Friends of the Strand". The Strand Theatre, a noted landmark on the historic Marietta Square in Cobb County, got its start as a major motion picture house in 1935. The Strand provided movie entertainment to thousands of people of all ages until it closed its doors as a movie house in 1976. In 2002, a group of community leaders began exploring the possibility of restoring the Strand Theatre. Chairman of the Board, Earl Smith stated, "Many people throughout the community have wonderful memories of the Strand and we are discovering abundant excitement about its restoration and renewal! An active theatre on the historic Marietta Square will most certainly enhance the current business and pleasure pedestrian traffic and, more importantly, draw newcomers to the area to experience the unique spirit of Marietta?s downtown. Pete Quinones stature in the community along with his knowledge and expertise in audio and acoustical design will be a great addtion to our board."
