MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service is proud to have received accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Service signifying compliance with the highest quality istandards in the EMS industry.

Accreditation by the Commission signifies that our service meets the "Gold Standard" as determined by the U.S. Ambulance Industry. The CAAS Board of Directors is represented by six national organizations including the American Ambulance Association, American College of Emergency Physicians, International Association of Fire Chiefs, National Association of EMS Physicians, National Association of EMS and the National Association of State EMS Directors. The Commission's standards often exceed those established by state or local regulation and are designed to help increase operational efficiency and decrease risk and liability across the entire spectrum of the EMS organization.

The accreditation process includes a comprehensive self-assessment and an independent external review of the EMS organization by CAAS representatives. Successful accreditation provides undisputed verification to local government officials, healthcare administrators and others in the community that the accredited agency is operating based on the highest quality standards established by the EMS industry.

Metro Atlanta Ambulance has been accredited since 2007 and has received an unprecedented perfect score from the Commission in their initial review in 2007, 2010, and 2016.

CAMTSMetroAtlanta Ambulance Service is proud to have received accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems signifying compliance with the Commissions high quality standards for patient care and safety of the transport environment.

The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems is an independent non-profit agency which audits and accredits medical transport services, both private and public, that provide rotor wing, fixed wing, surface, ground ambulance and medical escort services.

The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems first enacted its Accreditation Standards in 1990 and the Standards are the core element to the program, which declares the highest priorities for medical transport service companies are patient care and safety of the transport environment.

Accreditation signifies that our service cares about the quality of patient care and safety and is committed to doing things right.  The CAMTS Board of Directors is represented by 20 national organization. The accreditation process included an offsite survey of company policies, procedures and medical protocols and an on-site survey and a comprehensive review of the company’s operations. The company was evaluated on patient care, safety standards, quality improvement activities, initial and continuing education, equipment, staffing, communications, fleet maintenance and administration.

CoAEMSPThe MetroAtlanta EMS Academy is proud to have received accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) Committee on Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professionals (CoAEMSP) signifying compliance with the Commissions high quality standards which assure potential students that a school is a sound institution and has met certain minimum standards in terms of administration, resources, faculty and facilities.

The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs Committee on Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Profession is an independent non-profit agency that accesses the quality of institutions, programs and services against high quality industry standards. Accredited programs are required to undergo a two-part comprehensive evaluation that includes a written Continuing Accreditation Self Study Report (CSSR) and a comprehensive on-site review.
