MetroAtlanta Employees Complete Critical Intensive Care Paramedic Training

Saturday, December 15th, 2012

Ten MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service employees, who were carefully selected to attend the Cleveland Clinic EMS Academy's Critical Intensive Care Paramedic (CICP) program, have successfully completed their training.  The CICP curriculum provides paramedics with the education, knowledge and skill-sets required to deliver quality care to critically ill patients.  The classroom component consisted of 88 hours of lecture and lab work.  The medics were not only instructed on the "why and when," but practiced the "how to" so as to initiate the development of critical thinking at the advanced level.  A number of guest speakers, consisting of local healthcare experts in a variety of fields, offered presentations to the class throughout the three-month program.  Congratulations to graduates Chris Chambers, Ernest Frocione, Greg Hanthorn, Scott Lake, Layne Miles, Chante Morris, Doug Neath, Aaron Schultz, Robert Steuer and Melissa Tharp.
