Cobb Safety Village Award
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service was recognized by the Cobb Safety Village Board of Directors for their extraordinary commitment and support of the Cobb Safety Village. The Cobb Safety Village complex is built on 8 acres and provides a comprehensive safety training environment where children, residents and the business community gain knowledge through hands on experiences. MetroAtlanta Ambulance has been involved since the early planning stages and development of this one of a kind facility in Georgia. In addition to donating an Ambulance unit for display and construction an outdoor amphitheater in the village, MetroAtlanta Ambulance staff serve on the Board of Directors and are actively engaged in ensuring the successful operations. Sam Olens Business Community Service Award
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service received the 2014 Sam Olens Business Community Service Award. The Award, presented by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce and Georgia Trend magazine, recognizes deserving member businesses for service to the community through support of not-for-profit organizations. Nominated by Cobb & Douglas Public Health (CDPH), MetroAtlanta Ambulance has served as a critical partner to this trusted public health organization. The company serves on CDPH’s planning teams, participates in community emergency response and recovery exercises, and generously transports the Emergency Preparedness and Response Command Trailer to various community events, providing first aid services. MetroAtlanta has also served as a key partner with CDPH’s Safe Kids children’s injury prevention efforts for decades, and key leaders within the company have worked to make public health issues a priority within our community. www.cobbchamber.org/bcsa.
American Ambulance Association 2014 Star of Life Award
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service Paramedic, Leigh Dooley, was recently recognized with the "Star of Life" Award by the American Ambulance Association in Washington D.C. at a reception held in her honor. The American Ambulance Association "Star of Life" Award is one of the industry's highest honors care givers and other EMS professionals can receive. The award recognizes EMS professionals who make a difference in the lives of the patients and communities they serve. Leigh was nominated by her peers for her significant professional and volunteer work both on and off-duty. While off-duty she provides CPR & AED training along with other professional certification classes to healthcare professionals, scouts, neighborhood associations and other groups. While in Washington D.C., Leigh had an opportunity to meet with Congressional Leaders, including Representative Phil Gingery, David Scott and Senator Saxby Chambliss to discuss issues important to the EMS industry.
2014 EMS Director of the Year
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service Operations Manager for Paulding County, Karen Robinson, was recognized by the Georgia Office of EMS & Trauma, Region I EMS Council as the 2014 EMS Director of the Year. The award is named in honor of Stanley Payne, who served as EMS Director for Floyd Medical Center EMS and as Chairman of the Region I EMS Council until his untimely death. The award recognizes an individual EMS Director in the region who, like Mr. Payne, provides leadership to their employees and demonstrates a commitment to delivering high quality emergency services and a devotion to making the communities in which they serve an overall better place to live and work.
MetroAtlanta Ambulance CEO Recognized with Turknett Leadership Character Award
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service President and CEO, Pete Quinones, was recongnized with the Turknett Leadership Character Award at a recent luncheon held on September 18, 2013 at the Georgia Aquarium in downtown Atlanta. The award was developed to recognize individuals whom demonstrate integrity, relate to customers, suppliers, and co-workers with respect, and maintain a culture in which everyone takes responsibility for achieving results while upholding the organization's core values.
2013 Emergency Medical Service of the Year
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service was awarded the 2013 Emergency Medical Service of the Year for the State of Georgia by the Georgia Association of Emergency Medical Services. The Georgia Office of Emergency Medical Service & Trauma provides oversight of ambulance, neonatal transport services and medical first responder operations for the state of Georgia. The office is responsible for licensing ambulance services, making recommendations for promary 911 response zones, coordinating EMT and Paramedic schools and monitoring/coordinating education for Georgia EMT's and Paramedics.

MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service Paramedic, Phil Douglas, was recently recognized with the "Star of Life" Award by the American Ambulance Association in Washington D.C. at a reception held in his honor. The American Ambulance Association "Star of Life" Award is one of the industry's highest honors care givers and other EMS professionals can receive. The award recognizes EMS professionals who make a difference in the lives of the patients and communities they serve. Phil was nominated by his peers for his healthcare mission work in Haiti and, more recently, for starting an outreach program to provide support for Military Medics serving in Afghanistan. While in Washington D.C., Phil had an opportunity to meet with Congressional Leaders, including Representative Phil Gingery and Senator Johnny Isakson, to discuss issues important to the EMS industry. MetroAtlanta Ambulance Vice President, Devan Seabaugh, stated, "We are very proud of Phil and he is very deserving of this recognition. It's wonderful the American Ambulance Association provides this opportunity to professionals like Phil Douglas and other deserving medics across the country that see their heroism as another 'day on the job.' Phil is an exemplary paramedic and a shining example of a servant leader and we are happy to have him represent our company, our community and the great state of Georgia!"
American Heart Association "Heart Ready" Award
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service received the "Heart Ready" Award by the American Heart Association. "Heart Ready" Awards were developed by the American Heart Association to acknowledge cities, community partners, and public safety agencies that are committed to community based programs that improve the Cardiac Chain of Survival for their citizens. The Cardiac Chain of Survival is a sequence of four action links that must occur quickly to help ensure the best chance of survival of a Cardiac Arrest victim: recognizing early on the emergency and phoning 9-1-1 for EMS, administering CPR, delivering a shock via defibrillator if indicated, and early advanced life support followed by post-resuscitation care. The award was presented on July 11, 2012 at the City of Marietta Council Meeting.
Wellstar Distinguished Service Award
WellStar Health System and the WellStar Foundation recognized Pete Quinones and MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service with the WellStar Distinguished Service Award. The award recognizes the company's generous support and outstanding leadership in delivering world-class healthcare to the community.
WellStar Foundation president Tracy Atwater stated, “I am honored to present this award to Pete Quinones and MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service, who have been instrumental in developing a world-class STEMI Alert program with WellStar and for most recently helping WellStar Kennestone Hospital become a Designated Level II Trauma Center for the state of Georgia. They provide so much more than just medical transportation to this community. They are actively engaged and involved in the leadership of our community and are helping to ensure the quality of health care being delivered here is world-class. " This award was presented on April 21, 2012.
Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce 2011 Businessman of the Year
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service President & CEO Pete Quinones was recognized by the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as the 2011 Hispanic Businessman of the Year. The award was presented at the annual GHCC Gala on May 21, 2011.
Georgia-State Office of EMS & Trauma: Region III EMS Service of the Year
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service was awarded the 2008 Region III EMS Emergency Medical Service of the Year by the Region III EMS Council. The Region III EMS Council is an advisory council for the State of Georgia Department of Human Resources Office of Emergency Medical Service & Trauma, which provides oversight of ambulance, neonatal transport services and medical first responder operations in the greater metro-Atlanta area’s Region III health district. The office is responsible for licensing ambulance services, making recommendations for primary 911 response zones, coordinating EMT and Paramedic schools and monitoring/coordinating education for the EMT’s and Paramedics who serve the Region III health district.
Dr. John B. O’Neill, III EMS Pioneer Award
MetroAtlanta Ambulance President/CEO, Pete Quinones was awarded the “Dr. John B. O’Neal, III, Emergency Medical Services Pioneer Award” by the State Office of EMS & Trauma. The award is given each year to recognize and honor an individual in Georgia for his/her unselfish contributions to the development and enhancement of Georgia’s Emergency Medical Services system and the continued efforts to support and enhance the delivery of pre-hospital emergency medical care to the citizens of Georgia.
Cobb Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year
MetroAtlanta Ambulance was recognized as Cobb County’s 2006 Small Business of the Year. Cobb Chamber President Bill Cooper stated, “ There is no company more deserving of this award than MetroAtlanta Ambulance. The company provides so much more to Cobb County than just high quality medical transportation services. They are a part of everything good that is happening in our county. The leadership and support they provide in our community has had a positive impact on the economic development, education and delivery of healthcare.”
Top 25 Small Businesses in Cobb County
MetroAtlanta Ambulance has been recognized as one of Cobb County’s Top 25 Small Businesses of the Year consecutively since 2005. There are currently more than 44,000 small businesses that call Cobb County home.
Cobb Chamber of Commerce Innovation Award
MetroAtlanta Ambulance received the Cobb Chamber of Commerce Innovation Award for being the first EMS service in Georgia to implement online continuing education and training programs for their professional employees.
Kiwanis International Outstanding Community Service Award
MetroAtlanta Ambulance received the Kiwanis International Award for Outstanding Community Service by the Kiwanis Club of Marietta. The award recognizes Metro Atlanta Ambulances support of the local Kiwanis club and their commitment to addressing the health and safety needs of children in our community.
Accreditation: Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services
MetroAtlanta Ambulance is one of 113 EMS services in the nation to receive accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services signifying the service has met the "gold standard" determined by the ambulance industry to be essential in operating a modern emergency medical services company.
City of Marietta Outstanding Service Award
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service was recognized by the Mayor and City Council and honored by the City of Marietta for their longstanding tradition of providing efficient high quality state of the art medical care to the citizens in the city of Marietta.
Mack Henderson Public Service Award
MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service Vice President, Devan Seabaugh, was recognized at the Cobb Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner with the Mack Henderson Public Service Award. The award is presented in honor of James “Mack” Henderson to a deserving individual for their outstanding leadership and commitment to the Cobb County Community and it’s citizens.
National School and Business Partnership Award
MetroAtlanta Ambulance was nominated for the National School and Business Partnership Award, which recognizes the value, that partnerships between schools and businesses bring to improving the academic, social and physical well-being of students, MetroAtlanta Ambulance has been a partner with Pine Forest Elementary and Park Street Elementary Schools through the Cobb Chamber of Commerce Partners in Education Program. The employees of MetroAtlanta Ambulance serve as mentors, assist students in the after school program, read to students throughout the year, provide ambulance demonstrations during career day and hold a winter coat drive collecting hats, coats and gloves for distribution to kids at the school in need.
