MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service Medics Recognized for Saving Lives

Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service medics were recognized on May 11, 2011 at the ‘Region III EMS Awards Dinner’ for saving the lives of patients in Cardiac Arrest to which they responded. The annual event was hosted by Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta to recognize the outstanding efforts of all EMS, Fire and First Responders in the Atlanta Region for the dedicated services they provide in our community.  The medics receiving recognition included Justin Chambers, Lauren Harvey, Phillip Smith, Corey Payne, Tracie Everett, Chris Northrop, Josh Sherrell, Nicholas McElroy, Mark MacDonald, Danielle Giroux Lee Friend, Joecita Williams and Chrissie Harrell.  Justin Chambers and Lauren Harvey received multiple saves.

Metro Atlanta Ambulance was one of the first EMS services in Georgia to participate in the Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival (C.A.R.E.S) Program. The C.A.R.E.S program is sponsored by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in conjunction with the American Heart Association and Emory University.
